Missing E-Mail? Print

Occasionally we get reports from customers who have not received email messages that they have been expecting. In virtually every case there has been no record of the email arriving at our server.

 

One of the possible reasons for this is that the messages were incorrectly addressed. Normally, this would mean that the sender would get the email back. We have however had contact with another ISP in Canada and know that some of our missing email has been turning up on their server instead.

 

Please ensure that you always specify your COMPLETE email address when advising others.

 

Particularly, it is important that your email address ends in @virtual.net.au

 

Your email address does NOT end in @virtual.net

 

Although it may not seem too important, the ".au" part is vital! Without this tiny piece of information, your email ends up in Canada. From there, it is possible that it will be returned to the sender as undeliverable. However, if one of the users in Canada has the same user ID (first part of their email address) as you, your mail will be delivered to their account!

 

If you suspect that you are missing email, please send the details to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . To enable us to track it down, you must supply the sender's email address and the approximate date/time that the email was sent.
